After completing this class, users will be able to: - Establish a geospatial environment. - Edit geospatial features. - Manage geospatial features using buffers and Bulk Copy. - Use workflows to automate geospatial processes. - Use job processes to solve geospatial problems. (2 days)
This hands-on foundation-level course covers the essentials of Autodesk Civil 3D. Your instructor will teach you how to work with point data in AutoCAD Civil 3D, how to create and analyze a surface, how to develop a site, how to model roads and corridors, and how to import and export data. This course is designed to teach essential AutoCAD Civil 3D concepts and applications over a three-day period. (3 days)
In this introduction to Revit Architecture, Pacific Alliance leverages our extensive Revit implementation experience to help users become capable with the software as quickly and seamlessly as possible. The first day consists of an overview of the software and introduction to key terms and concepts. The second and third days cover conceptual design with massing, the use of Revit's wide range of components, and project setup strategy. Students learn both the modeling and the documentation capabilities of Revit through extensive use of walls, editing functions, dimensioning and annotation. In addition, the utilization of Revit's method of detailing is covered. By the end of the 3 days, the student will have the skills to work on a real world project in Revit from building design through construction documentation. Part of day 3 can be customized to your specific project needs. (3 days)
This course for new Revit Structure users covers the basics from structural modeling, detailing, preparing the analytical model for export to analysis packages and creating custom structural components. It provides a solid foundation in navigating the user interface, setting up structural projects and interfacing with architectural designs and analytical software packages. No previous CAD experience is necessary; however, basic knowledge of drafting and/or structural engineering is recommended. (3 days)
Students learn a wide range of advanced topics in Revit Structure 2010, building on the concepts introduced in the Revit Structure Essentials 2010 course. Hands-on exercises teach students about detailing and detail components, rebar, families, analytical analysis, as well as how to collaborate on a design with other professionals. This course offers both imperial and metric hands-on exercises representing real-world design scenarios. (2 days)
This course is for the new Revit MEP User. In this course students use Revit MEP to model Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems. Students learn the recommended workflows and basic skills required to navigate Revit MEP and use its tools to create, modify and analyze MEP systems. By completing this course students will be able to produce a building information model of a commercial design for mechanical and electrical systems and extract 2D drawings for construction documents. Prerequisite is the Revit Essentials course or commensurate ability in Revit. (3 days)
Revit Architecture is a Building Information Modeling (BIM) tool, which can be used by more than one person working on a new project. This is an important feature in collaboration within a project, between projects, and with other users, firms, and disciplines. The objective of the Revit Architecture 2011 Collaboration Tools training guide is to enable students who have a basic knowledge of Revit to increase their productivity while working with other people on a team, either in the same firm or with other firms, and while working with Revit files or other CAD files. (1 Day)
Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an approach to the entire building life cycle. Revit Architecture is a powerful BIM program that supports the ability to coordinate, update, and share design data with team members throughout the design, construction, and management phases of a buildings life. A key component in managing the BIM process is to establish a company foundation for different types of projects by creating standard templates and custom elements. Having this in place makes the process of any new project flow smoothly and efficiently. The objective of the Revit Architecture 2011 BIM Management course is to enable students who have worked with Revit to expand their knowledge in setting up office standards with templates that include annotation styles, preset views, sheets, and schedules, as well as creating custom element types and families. (1 Day)
As architects and designers start a project, they frequently think about the overall massing of a building or the area of the footprint. This guide, using Revit Architectures powerful Building Information Modeling (BIM) engine, covers tools for creating mass elements that can be modified into many shapes. Students then apply walls, roofs, and floors applied to the mass elements. (1 Day)
Revit Architecture’s main purpose is to design buildings – walls, doors, floors, roofs, and stairs. However, architects also frequently need to add site and structural information. This course covers the elements and tools in Revit Architecture that are used to create topographic surfaces for site work and to add structural elements. (1 Day)
The MicroStation Foundation course is for new users of MicroStation software; no previous experience with MicroStation or any other CAD or GIS package is required, although the student is expected to be computer literate.
